5½ Reasons to love Leo (and vote for us!)

So you might have heard (because we’ve been excitedly yelling it at you since we found out) that we’ve been nominated for TWO UK Festival Awards

We’re up for Best Small Festival and Best Grassroots Festival, and if you’re not fully convinced that we’re where your vote should go, we’ve put together five (and a half) reasons why you should Vote For Leo!

1. We started from the bottom…

Literally. We grew this party we’re pretty proud of from just a few mates in a field with too much cider. We regularly have to pinch ourselves at how far we’ve come, and how we’ve done it all with the support of you. You don’t get much deeper Grassroots.

2. The biggest bands

For a small festival we are pretty bloody spectacular at bringing the biggest and the best bands to our little field in Cornwall. From Kelis to Friendly Fires, Seasick Steve to DJ Yoda, and Audio Bullys to Feeder.

3. The next biggest bands

But we don’t always wait for somebody else to tell us who are the best bands in the business, we go out and find them ourselves. Our line-ups are filled with your next favourite bands. And we don’t want to say it’s us who decide on the next big thing, but we will say this - Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man, Idles, Loyle Carner, Eliza Doolitte, and Everything Everything…

4. Something for everyone

We’re not just about the music. There’s an endless list of things to do scattered amongst the trees. Whether you fancy laughing until your stomach hurts in our comedy tent, getting the kids involved in incredible immersive theatre, making zombie teddy bears, touring the world via an incredible selection of food, or even singing karaoke - we’ve got you covered!

5. Party without the guilt

We’re committed to keeping our festival footprint as low as possible, we love this little planet of ours and would really like to keep it. Not only were we the first UK festival to ban single-use plastic behind our bars, all of the stages and buildings you see around the site are built from reclaimed and recycled materials where possible, and we run a zero-landfill site!

Plus we plant trees. A LOT of them.

5½. Get the crew out of their work boots

& into their dress shoes!

If nothing else will get you, the idea of getting our team out of their comfort zone of muddy jeans and battered work boots and into a suit and tie just might.

One last thing, check out the official video from Leo XIII and tell us that doesn’t deserve a trophy or two…

Have we convinced you now? If so head here and vote for Leopallooza in the Best Small Festival and Best Grassroots Festival categories. We love you.
