The Funny Side is back for 2019 and it is bigger, better, and funnier than ever before.
Friday night we are thrilled to have the incredible Jayde Adams opening The Funny Side. Jayde is a comedian, actor, and singer from Bristol. Her hilarious stand-up routines have won her the 2014 Funny Women Award as well as seeing her nominated for Best Newcomer at Edinburgh 2016.
Headlining for Friday will be Hal Cruttenden, one of the top stand up comedians working in the UK today, as well as a highly accomplished writer and actor. He has had numerous successful tours over the past few years, and has made several appearances on ‘Live at the Apollo’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ as well as his regular appearances on shows such as ‘Mock the Week’ , ‘The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice’ and ‘The Apprentice: You’re Fired’.
Saturday night’s headline laughs will come from I’m A Celeb finalist and Netflix Comedians of the World star, Joel Dommett. Joel quickly established himself as one of the most energetic and exciting comedians on the circuit and has received critical acclaim for both TV shows and his book, It’s Not Me It’s Them.
Keeping the funny flowing will be our MCs for the weekend, hosting Friday, Saturday and Sunday night will be Marc Dolan, known for his appearances on Balls of Steel and Show Me The Funny, described as being ‘a master of improvisation and audience interaction’ we can’t think of a better host for the evening.
Saturday and Sunday afternoon will be hosted by Christian Russell-Pollock. ‘With 23 letters and a hyphen, Christian Russell-Pollock is technically one of the biggest names in comedy.’ Lauded as a ‘stand out stand-up’ and the winner of multiple awards you know you’re in for a great show.
You’ll have to wait to find out who will be closing The Funny Side on Sunday, we promise it will be worth it!
There are so, so many incredible comedians to catch over the weekend from the sell-out International Joke Off, Cornwall’s very own Anna Kierle, brutally honest Bristolian Louise Leigh, BBC regular Arthur Smith, and Ivo Graham the youngest ever winner of the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny award for new acts at the Edinburgh Fringe, plus a whole gaggle more!
